Holiday joy for children

Nuneaton’s Round Table has pledged £250 towards the Camp Hill Children’s Holiday Scheme, which is sending 24 local youngsters on activity holidays later this month.

The Children’s Holiday Scheme is the creation of the Camp Hill Residents’ Forum and supports local youngsters who have never had the chance to take a holiday – something that many people take for granted.

This year the Forum has surpassed themselves - raising enough to send 24 children aged between 7 and 14 on activity holidays in July and August.  This is thanks to kind donations from local groups like the Nuneaton Round Table, who are known for their efforts to help the local community, particularly charitable causes.

Ann Corbett, chair of Camp Hill Residents’ Forum said: “We are very grateful to the Round Table for their fantastic support.  It is immensely fulfilling to see so many youngsters given a chance to enjoy an activity holiday – something that the families involved are unable to afford.”

“The activity holidays provide many rewards for those that take part – the chance to find new talents and abilities, and a real awareness of their potential.”

John Moore, Vice Chair of Nuneaton Round Table states, “Fun, friendship and trying something new and exciting - that’s what Round Table is all about. There is no better way of creating life long memories than the holiday we had when we were younger; the Nuneaton Round Table is delighted to be able to support the Camp Hill Children’s Holiday Scheme”.

This follows last year’s success, which saw 8 youngsters enjoying the activity holiday.
