New logo unveiled at county showcase
Warwickshire Children and Voluntary Youth Services (WCVYS) has unveiled their new logo at an annual county showcase highlighting the diversity of children and young people’s services on offer in the voluntary sector.
The artwork was designed to compliment the organisations ethos of ‘helping you to help children and young people’ and was shown to more than 65 invited dignitaries attending the annual meeting, which celebrates the success of WCVYS-supported projects and how they have enhanced the opportunities available to children and young people.
WCVYS is the umbrella organisation that brings together and strengthens the voice of all the major voluntary children and youth groups and services in Warwickshire.
Working in close partnership with Warwickshire County Council’s Division for Young People, WCVYS supports the delivery of youth work training, promotes integrated working practices, administers grants for training and projects and creates opportunities to enhance programmes of work with children and young people.
On the night, young people representing five voluntary sector groups gave presentations about their projects.
Nuneaton and Bedworth Doorway talked about how a grant from WYCVS enabled young people to take part in activities they wouldn’t have been able to do otherwise; The Gap Community Centre in Warwick spoke about a WCVYS outdoor education residential in North Wales; and ILEAP detailed their summer activities project for young people with physical or learning disabilities, supported by WCVYS.
The evening ended with the 1st Rugby Boys Brigade performing a very powerful mime to the song ‘Another day in Paradise’ about homelessness.
Vic Jones, Manager of WCVYS, said: “It is really pleasing to see so many projects making a difference to children and young people’s lives across Warwickshire and our AGM gave us the opportunity to highlight their successes.
“Young people are at the heart of what we do, so it great that they are involved in both this showcase but also helping move the organisation forward.”
