Free family fishing at Kingsbury this weekend
To celebrate National Fishing Week, which gets underway on Friday, Kingsbury Water Park is offering families a free event this Sunday.
The Family Fish-in will take place at the North Warwickshire country park to offer everyone who’s ever fancied going fishing the opportunity to try their luck and learn something about the activity.
To take part visitors must book in for a 40 minute taster session, and the rangers at the country park will even supply all of the bait and tackle.
Paula Cheesman, Warwickshire County Council’s Country Parks Visitor Manager, said: “Angling is one of the most enjoyable pastimes in the world. It teaches children about wildlife, the importance of a clean environment and provides healthy entertainment for all ages.
“As with most activities it’s good to learn young and learn correctly. Our aim is to teach children the right way to fish and, through that, how to care for the environment.”
National Fishing Week 2009 is organised by the Angling Trust on behalf of the Angling Trades Association, the Environment Agency and other supporting organisations.
