And all that Jazz…
Residents in the Henley area with musical experience are being asked to ‘dust off their instruments’ and take part in a new ten-week jazz workshop.
The course, which is being run by Warwickshire County Council’s Adult and Community Learning in Partnership with Extended Services, will take place at Henley in Arden High School, Stratford Road, Henley in Arden. Basic knowledge of your instrument, common scales and chords will be required. Experienced singers also welcome.
Extended Services co-ordinator, Janet Strugnell said:
“The jazz course will provide residents with a great opportunity to explore and improvise with jazz in a relaxed and friendly environment. Extended Services are keen to encourage people to use their local schools for community learning and this is a great example of that working in Henley.”
Adult Community Learning Development Worker, Lynne Marcel said:
“This is an exciting opportunity for people who have a flair for music or for those who simply want to share their passion for jazz to join together and create something special. The course will run for ten weeks, led by Adrian Litvinoff, during which time the group will work on putting together collective pieces for everyone to enjoy”
The course will run between 7.30pm and 9.30pm from Thursday 17 September. The cost is £70 per person for ten weeks. Concessions are available. For further information or to book a place please contact Lynne Marcel on 01926 413608 or lynnemarcel@warwickshire.gov.uk
