Coleshill BID success
Hams Hall Business Association, is delighted to announce, that after two years of hard work, it has today been successful in securing a 'Business Improvement District ' for its Business Park at Coleshill.
This means that businesses have voted in favour of funding a controlled access scheme in an attempt to eliminate the problems associated with car racing and anti social behaviour which puts business employees in danger and causes a considerable nuisance to surrounding villages and neighbourhoods.
Businesses have been working with the Police, Warwickshire County Council and North Warwickshire Borough Council, to investigate various solutions to the growing problem, which has become increasingly more serious over the last few years.
Frank Rodgers, Commercial Manager at E.ON and Chair of the BID Group said: “This really is great news for Hams Hall; working together to eliminate the problems faced by our employees and business colleagues on a regular basis we are raising over £400,000, including contributions from the public bodies.
"We have studied schemes in other locations which have stopped the problems immediately and we are planning to do the same here. We will be looking at the plans now in more detail and it is probable that we will install gates, CCTV and ANPR and will release further statements as the project develops.
"This is good news for businesses and residents alike and we all look forward to a safer and cleaner future.”
Cllr Peter Fowler, the county council’s Portfolio Holder for Economic Development, and local member for Coleshill, said: “This is indeed great news and I look forward to working with the BID Company and Board and getting the schemes up and running.
"This BID is one of several developed as part of the Warwickshire BIDs programme and is the first in the country for a high profile business park, so great news all round.”
