Summer holiday fun continues at country parks

Warwickshire County Council’s Country Parks are continuing to offer up a packed summer of events for young and old alike.

Events and activities are taking place to offer visitors and local people the chance to enjoy a breath of fresh air in the county’s country parks.

Events and activities include:
August Bank Holiday weekend at Kingsbury
A full steam train service will be operating on Saturday 29, Sunday 30 and Monday 31 August.

Power Boat Club at Kingsbury Water Park
Sat 29th and Sun 30th August
European Junior Championships
Qualifying round OSY Championship

Sat 29 and Sub 30 August
Night Fishing Sessions at Kingsbury Water Park
Time:  6.30am on Saturday through to 7.30pm on Sunday. (booking required)

Den Building at Hartshill Hayes Country Park
Make your own den using branches and twigs collected from around the park.  Bring a picnic lunch to eat in your den afterwards.  An ideal family event but not recommended for children under 5yrs.  All children must be accompanied by an adult.
Time:  10.30 a.m. to 12.30 p.m..  Meet:  The Visitor Centre. 
Cost:  Adults £2.00, Concessions £1.00, Family £4.00.

Make a Desk Tidy at Kingsbury Water Park.
With school just days away, why not make your own fancy desk tidy.  You will use recycled materials to make a fantastic holder for all your pens and pencils.  Decorate it as you wish and place it on your desk for all to see.  An event for children aged 5 to 12 years.
Time:  10.30 a.m. to 12.00 noon.  Meet:  The Education Centre.  Cost:  £3.00 per child.

Wed 2 September
Summer in a Box at Kingsbury Water Park
A short walk through the park to collect natural objects, then use your collection to make a 3D model that reminds you of Summer at Kingsbury Water Park.  An event for children aged 3 to 12 years.
Time:  10.30 a.m. to 12.00 noon.  Meet:  The Education Centre.  Cost:  £3.00 per child.

Orienteering at Pooley Country Park
Using a map and compass, try to find your way around our new orienteering course, with help from the Rangers!  An event for children aged 7 to 12 years.
Time:  10.30 a.m. to 12.00 noon.  Meet:  The Visitor Centre.  Cost:  £3.00 per child.
