Discover the contrasting landscapes of Ragley Hall, thanks to Warwickshire County Council’s Heritage Education Service.
At 10am on Wednesday 2 September Steven Falk, Keeper of Natural History for Warwickshire County Council’s Museum Service, will give a two-hour guided walk of Ragley Hall’s grounds.
This guided walk will compare the contrasting landscapes of the formal gardens and the deer park giving a fascinating insight into Ragley’s natural heritage, including its notable trees, plants and wildlife.
The wooded parkland at Ragley Hall, is a stunning example of the work of Lancelot “Capability” Brown, one of England’s greatest landscape architects. Capability Brown designed more than 150 parks over the 18th century, many of which still endure today.
In addition, Victorian garden designer Robert Marnock created a formal flower garden at Ragley Hall in the late 19th century. His designs remain in evidence today and have developed into a rich natural environment with mature trees throughout.
Tickets are £2.50 and strict booking conditions mean that they must be purchased in advance from Heritage Education by telephoning 01926 412069.
Please note the ticket does not include access to the facilities at Ragley Hall and you must purchase a separate ticket should you wish to see any of the other attractions. Please wear suitable footwear for walking and clothing suited to the weather.
