Villagers get their say
Village design, footways lighting, signage for local shops in Barford and more will be on the agenda at the next meeting of the Warwick Rural West Community Forum, on Monday 28 September.
The forum will be held at the Barford Memorial Hall from 7.30pm.
Other items on the agenda at the meeting, which is open to all residents living in villages to the west of Warwick, include an update on the Community Forum Grant Fund and the Central Warwickshire Villages LEADER programme.
Community Forums are a great way for people to find out about big issues affecting the area, get answers to questions and influence local decision-making. Anyone with a question about a local issue can go along and put it to local Councillors and officers from a range of organisations.
District and County Councillor Les Caborn will chair the meeting and there will be updates from Warwick District Council, rural parish councils and Warwickshire County Council on a number of issues.
Councillor Caborn says: “We are pleased with how our rural community forum is developing and invite you to join in and make your contribution, as all councils work to practically deliver the current phrase ‘bottom up government’.”
How local residents want to use their community forum and link in with other organisations is just one of the items on the agenda, and there will be a presentation from the Warwickshire and West Midlands Association of Local Councils.
For residents who can’t make the meeting on 28 September, alternative methods of feeding into the debate are available, and the next meeting is on 29 October 2009, in Committee Room 2 at Shire Hall, Warwick.
There are a number of ways that people can find out about the issues discussed at the Community Forum and what progress is being made.
