Spooky stories and magical masks in Warwick this half-term
Warwickshire County Council’s Heritage Education will be calling in at St John’s Museum in Warwick this half term to bring some spook-tacular local tales, just in time for Halloween!
Children and their families should head to the museum on Wednesday 28th October 2009 between 10.30am – 12.30pm or 2 – 4pm to join in the storytelling sessions and have a go at making a Green Man mask.
These events will be a great chance for families to hear traditional Warwickshire folktales, bringing to life ghostly goings-on at the castle and legendary beasts like the ‘Dun Cow’ and a giant black dog said to roam the country lanes…
Rebecca Williams, of Warwickshire County Council’s Heritage Education Service, said: “After a really busy summer, where we delivered nearly 80 events for families, it’s great to return to various venues around the county.
"This time, we’ll be bringing stories out of the archives, with the help of the Warwickshire County Record Office, and inspiring children and their families to get creative together and maybe even make up some stories of their own.”
The sessions cost £2.50 per child and all ages are welcome, but children aged 8 and under must be accompanied by an adult.
