Warwick’s customer service stars shine
Staff working at the ‘Warwickshire Direct’ One Stop Shop and Customer Service Centre in Warwick’s Shire Hall, who provide information and advice on a variety of council and other services, have been rewarded for ‘always smiling’ and ‘going the extra mile’ as part of national Customer Service Week.
The Customer Service Advisors, who handle a wide range of Warwickshire County Council and Warwick District Council customer queries over the phone at the Customer Service Centre and face-to-face at the One Stop Shop, were nominated for a series of awards to celebrate good customer service at the council.
Councillor Heather Timms, Warwickshire County Council’s Portfolio Holder for Customers, Workforce and Partnerships, said: “This was an opportunity to recognise and celebrate examples of outstanding customer service within our Customer Service Centre and One Stop Shop teams.”
Emma Hall, an advisor at the Customer Service Centre, and Wendy Burbidge, an advisor at the One Stop Shop were the winners of the Best Customer Service & Professionalism award.
Compliments for Emma included, “Emma always delivers the best service possible to each call she takes”, while compliments for Wendy included, “Wendy is a complete natural in this role and always provides quality customer service.”
The winners of the Always Smiling award were Sandra Buxton at the Customer Service Centre and Wendy Burbidge at the One Stop Shop, with those who nominated Sandra for the award commenting, “no matter what the situation, Sandra is always in good spirits”, and those who nominated Wendy commenting, “she can change the situation to a happy one.”
Frances Wintle, an advisor at the Customer Service Centre and Caroline Huckvale, an advisor at the One Stop Shop won the award for Always Going the Extra Mile.
Compliments about Frances included, “no matter how small or large the question from a customer, Frances will always endeavour to find the answer”, while compliments about Caroline included, “Caroline is an absolute credit to herself.”
Finally, Paul Cooney at the Customer Service Centre and Jamie Perry at the One Stop Shop were the winners of the Good Work Rate Award, in recognition of compliments that included, “Paul is constantly taking calls, will step up for any extra work that needs doing” and “Jamie works really hard and is always willing to help others.”
Councillor Heather Timms continued: “Together, our Customer Service Advisors answer hundreds of customer queries each week on a wide range of subjects and services, some of which are complex and difficult.
“But it’s important that we recognise and reward individuals who make a special effort to help people. I’m delighted with the compliments our advisors have received.”
