Dine by Candlelight for Switch it Off

Restaurants and bars across Warwickshire are being urged to support this year’s Switch it Off campaign and dip the lighting and offer a candlelit meal to customers at a reduced rate.

As part of Warwickshire County Council’s Switch it Off campaign this year as many businesses as possible are being urged to back the initiative by offering 10 per cent off the final bill on the evening of Thursday, November 12.

These venues can then promote their support of the campaign and households will be urged to leave their homes and head out for a ‘low energy’ romantic candlelit meal instead.

Cllr Alan Cockburn, Warwickshire County Council’s Portfolio Holder for the Environment, said: “Switch it Off has in the last couple of years seen huge support from local people, and hopefully this year when the big switch off happens between 4.30pm and 6.30pm on Friday, November 13, people will once again think twice before switching on.

“Dine by Candlelight is a bit of fun this year, a chance to get out and have a meal at a reduced rate, while also promoting the environmental message.”
