Nature expert and author to give talk on Warwickshire’s wonderful wildflowers
Warwickshire County Council’s Heritage Education department have organised an evening talk to mark the launch of the new ‘Warwickshire’s Wildflowers’ book by Warwickshire Museum’s Natural History expert, Steven Falk.
On Wednesday 4 November there will be an opportunity to quiz Steven on his extensive knowledge of the natural history of Warwickshire, and enjoy a slideshow of some of the wildflowers. This will be accompanied by a talk on the diverse species and some of the unusual places where you might find them growing.
Steven Falk said: “This book is a celebration of the local landscape and the flowers that grow in the county. It is the result of a long-term project and the talk will reveal how this book will radically change the way you view Warwickshire and help you to understand the 6,000 years of history that have come to make it look and feel the way it looks today.”
The talk starts at 7.30pm on Wednesday 4 November, and advance booking is advised. Tickets are £2.50 each. Please book the tickets in advance by calling Heritage Education on 01926 412069. This event is part of Heritage Education’s year-round Outlook programme of friendly and informative events for adults. ‘Outlook’ leaflets are available from all libraries in Warwickshire, or can be viewed online at http://www.warwickshire.gov.uk/heritageeducation.
