Action on public’s big issues in Rugby
Development of the Rugby Radio Station site, highways schemes, speeding, anti-social behaviour and more were all on the agenda at the most recent round of Rugby Community Forum meetings.
Other items on the agenda at the meetings, which are open to all residents, included local policing, HGVs on minor roads, dangerous parking, youth facilities and the Fire and Rescue consultation.
Community Forums are a great way for people to find out about big issues affecting the area, get answers to questions and influence local decision-making.
Anyone with a question about a local issue can go along and put it to local Councillors and officers from the County and Borough Councils as well as representatives from the Police’s Safer Neighbourhood Team.
People attending meetings can also suggest agenda items for the next meeting and help set up to three priorities for the Police to tackle over the next three months.
There are a number of ways that people can find out about the issues discussed at the Community Forum and what progress is being made. Louise Boffey and Hannah Cramp, Localities & Communities Officers in the Rugby Area Partnership Team, are the main contact for queries about the Community Forums, telephone 01788 533656.
General information about the Forums, minutes from past meetings, copies of presentations, etc., can be found on the Area Partnership Team website at http://www.warwickshire.gov.uk/rugbyarea.
Residents can stay up to date with local crime and safety issues and contact their local Safer Neighbourhoods teams, who attend each Community Forum, by logging onto their website at http://www.safer-neighbourhoods.co.uk.
