‘Mocktails’ are on the house
Non-alcoholic cocktails will be served to staff at a healthy county council event next week.
The county’s Drug and Alcohol Action Team (DAAT) partnered by Warwick’s Kozi Bar will be showing staff how to make sin free drinks like Bora Bora Brew and November Seabreeze as part of the council’s Health and Wellbeing Week 9-13 November.
Kozi Bar staff will be mixing the drinks and sharing the recipes with visitors to the ‘Know your Limits’ stand at Shire Hall on 10 November. Meanwhile DAAT representatives will be on hand with plenty of advice to promote healthy lifestyles.
Staff will be able to complete questionnaires to evaluate their drinking behaviour and pick up some tips for drinking sensibly which they can apply to their own lifestyles or share with friends and family.
Kit Leck, DAAT Manager said: “We’re really pleased to be taking part in this event and grateful for the support from local bar, Kozi. We will use the event to promote sensible drinking and raise awareness of the dangers of overindulging - with the festive season approaching the timing is perfect.”
The event is one of a series of activities taking place for staff during this week. Workshops on stress, time management, and laughter classes are on offer along with more active sessions such as walking and Touch Rugby.
The event programme was put together based on feedback from views expressed in the staff survey and all the events are being run by staff who have given up their time to share skills and information with their colleagues.
Warwickshire County Councillor Heather Timms, Portfolio Holder for Customers, Workforce and Partnerships said: “We have an impressive menu of varied sessions on offer during the week with one common theme, wellbeing.
“Activities from Tango to Tai Chi will be running side by side to equip our highly valued workforce with the tools to pursue physically and mentally healthy lifestyles.”
