Enter competition write away!

Primary and secondary school children in Nuneaton, North Warwickshire and Rugby are being encouraged to enter write away as the County Council’s Library Service launches a competition in schools.

The ‘Write It Warwickshire’ competition encourages children to get inspired by the place where they live whether it’s a local landmark, a local community group or the recent Fantastic Fun with Words festival.

Fantastic Fun with Words was a great success and engaged more than one thousand school children across Rugby, Nuneaton and North Warwickshire, as well as hundreds of adults and families.

Children are being asked to write up to 500 words on a local landmark, building or landscape feature; a community group, e.g. school or club; or an activity from Fantastic Fun with Words ‘09.

Not only will winners of the primary and secondary categories receive their own prizes but their schools will get to benefit too from a writing workshop with a local author. The winning entries and schools will also appear on the Warwickshire Libraries web page.

The closing date for schools is Friday 4th December and further details can be found on http://www.warwickshire.gov.uk/libraries and click on the “Write It Warwickshire!” logo.

Ground rules!
Each entry must be no more than 500 words and must be based in some way on one of the following:
