Young people from Nuneaton raise money for Pudsey Bear
Young people aged between 15 and 16, from Nuneaton will be running out a mile of hoses in an attempt to raise money for Children in Need.
The fundraising event will take place at 2pm on Friday 20 November at Kenilworth Fire Station, School Lane, Kenilworth
The students will be running out over a mile of hose, which is a total of 128 hoses in less than one hour with the support of firefighters from Warwickshire County Council’s Fire and Rescue Service.
Paul Ingham, Youth Development Officer said:
“The young people taking part in the Children in Need event all attend the Firebreak course, a course developed by Warwickshire Fire and Rescue Service. Running over a mile of hose is a big task and doing it will be lots of fun for those taking part and the spectators. Over £800 was raised when similar events were staged for Comic Relief in the spring and we are hoping to raise this much again.”
Portfolio Holder for Community Safety, Councillor Richard Hobbs said:
“Children in Need is a very worthy cause and it is great that so many young people are getting involved. It should be a really fun event which I hope will be well supported.”
