Young people raise their hoses in the air for Pudsey Bear
Young people aged between 14 and 17, from Kenilworth will be running out a mile of fire hose to raise money for Children in Need.
The fundraising event will take place at 2:00pm on Thursday 19th November at Kenilworth Fire Station. The students will be running out over a mile of hose, which is a total of 128 hoses in less than one hour. The students will be supported by firefighters from Warwickshire County Council’s Fire and Rescue Service, as well as parents and carers. Local residents are also being invited to come along and support the event
Moreno Francioso, Youth Development Officer said:
“The young people taking part in the event all attend the Flare course, a personal development programme developed and run by Warwickshire Fire and Rescue Service in partnership with Connexions and funded by Positive About Young People. Running out – and rolling back up - a mile of hose in an hour is a big task and doing it all in aid of Children in Need and in front of supporters, should make it lots of fun for both those taking part and the spectators. We also hope that lots of money will be raised by their efforts.”
Portfolio Holder for Community Safety, Councillor Richard Hobbs said:
“Children In Need is a very worthy cause and it is great that so many young people are getting involved. It should be a really fun event, so please come along and give your support.”
