Can you help transform lives?
Turning around the lives of young people at risk is the aim of an exciting new project being run by Warwickshire County Council’s Positive about Young People programme.
Working in partnership with national charity ‘Youth at Risk’, the Community Transformation Programme aims to help over 200 of the ‘most alienated and disengaged young people’ in Nuneaton recognise and fulfil their potential.
A series of training and coaching activities will give them the skills to help them improve their future prospects, and in doing so, benefit their communities.
‘Coaching for Communities’ is one of the projects offered as part of the Community Transformation programme. It offers a six-day intensive residential experience to 25 of the hardest to reach young people from West Nuneaton.
It is designed to transform the lives of young people and provide a unique volunteering opportunity for adults who want to help groups of 15 to 19-year-olds achieve their own personal goals.
A presentation is being held for anyone interested in becoming a volunteer on the ‘Coaching for Communities’ programme from 5.30pm to 6.30pm on Wednesday 9 December at first floor, Kings House, Kings Street, Bedworth.
Parneet Kang, Development Manager for Early Intervention/Prevention at Positive about Young People, said: “Coaching for Communities offers young people working with us another chance to make the most of opportunities that may arise.
“It helps them realise their goals and how best to achieve them through hard work and determination, and really does make a difference to their life chances.
“It also provides an opportunity for older members of the community to get involved in some very worthwhile volunteering.”
If you are interested in attending or would like further information please contact Parneet Kang at Positive about Young People on 02476 754178 as soon as possible.
