Rudolf and co put on a show

Families at St John’s Children’s Centre will be in for a treat as a very special guest and his helpers pays them a visit later this month.

Father Christmas has made time in his very busy schedule to drop in to the Kenilworth centre’s party on 16 December and will bring along the real reindeers Prancer and Comet.

He will be tethering his sleigh up at the Mortimer Road centre all day and the children will get the chance to meet him and come face to face with his furry friends.

The centre supports families living in and around Kenilworth, Leek Wootton and Lapworth who have all been invited to join the fun. Refreshments and stay and play sessions will be on offer and each child will be able to feed the reindeers, sprinkle magic dust and visit Father Christmas in his grotto.

Councillor Izzi Seccombe, portfolio holder for children, young people and families said: “This visit will be a lovely surprise for the children and their families and the perfect way to get everyone in the Christmas spirit. This is another great example of how our children’s centres are engaging with local communities.”

Children’s Centre Manager, Julie Curtis said: “We’re looking forward to welcoming our special guests to the centre, and all the children are really excited.”

St John’s Sure Start Children’s Centre is one of eight up and running in Warwick District which is supported by Warwickshire County Council.  The centre helps families by offering integrated care and education for pre-school children, health services, and family support.

It is also a good place to go for advice about benefits, tax credits and links to employment opportunities with Jobcentre Plus as well as support for childcare providers.
