Warwickshire Fire and Rescue Service – sign the HSE pledge!

Warwickshire County Council’s Fire and Rescue Service is one of the 1,000 of organisations now signed up to the HSE pledge.

The HSE launched the new strategy earlier this year and invited organisations to show their commitment to the health and safety of Great Britain.

Area Manager for Development, David Vazquez, today signed the pledge on behalf of Warwickshire Fire and Rescue Service. By signing the pledge, WFRS have agreed to:

Play their part in reducing the numbers of work-related deaths, injuries and ill health in Great Britain.

Call on employers to put health and safety at the heart of what they do and to take a common sense approach to health and safety.

Commit to debunking myths around health and safety that trivialise the impact of injuries, ill health and deaths on individuals and their families.

Recognise the importance of health and safety in difficult economic times and dangers of complacency.

Pledge to work with the Health and Safety Executive and its partners to ‘be part of the solution’.

David Vazquez said: “We are pleased to have signed the pledge and look forward to working in partnership with the HSE to reduce deaths and injuries in Warwickshire.

"As an organisation, we play a unique role in driving health and safety improvements in our own workplace and in businesses across the County by providing free fire safety advice.

”We are now one of many fire services to sign the pledge and hope that our support will make a difference.”

Portfolio Holder for Community Safety, Councillor Richard Hobbs said: “It is exciting for Warwickshire Fire and Rescue Service to be part of a national pledge to improve the health and safety of Great Britain.

"It is important for us as a Fire and Rescue Service to be engaging with businesses of all sizes, sharing our knowledge and experience of fire safety to improve the health and safety of workplaces in Warwickshire.”
