Local grants up for grabs by Whitnash groups
Whitnash Community Forum is offering grants to local groups to help them deliver great opportunities across the area.
The Forum, which is open to all interested people in Whitnash, is keen to encourage people to come forward with their ideas.
The Forum has got just over £15,000 to spend on areas of work identified as priorities. Current priorities include tackling antisocial behaviour, securing the Dobson Lane allotments, speeding, and promoting the positive image of young people in Whitnash.
“Priorities do change, based on the issues raised by residents at the community forum meeting,” Cllr Bernard Kirton, Chair of the Forum, said. “We hope the people of Whitnash will seize this opportunity to apply for funds to benefit the local community, and to take part in voting on grant awards.”
The grant money has been made available by Warwick District Council and Warwickshire County Council, and has been given to all Community Forums across Warwick district.
Applications are invited before the closing date of 11th January 2010. Forms are available to download from http://www.warwickshire.gov.uk/warwickarea or by post by ringing 01926 456683.
Completed applications will go before the Whitnash Community Forum being held on Wednesday 20th January at 6.30pm at the Community Centre, Acre Close. Anyone who would like to take part in voting on applications is invited to come to the Forum on 20th January to have their say.
