Council customers WOW-ed in Warwickshire!

Members of Warwickshire County Council staff have shown they have the ‘WOW’ factor by winning prestigious national awards.

The WOW! Awards are the only national customer service awards based purely on nominations from customers – the people who use the services themselves.

Judges commended eight staff from the council’s Adult, Health and Community Services division who work in a range of fields including libraries, residential care homes for older people and mental health services.

Judges of the WOW! Awards were reportedly dazzled by stories of good customer service at Warwickshire County Council ranging from library staff who go the extra mile and encourage children with their reading to care home workers who significantly improve the lives of older people.

The winners included Graham Lockley of Wellesbourne and Kineton libraries; Michelle King of Harbury, Southam and Wellesbourne libraries; Jean Bishop of Keresley Library; Julie Shilton of Kingsbury Library; John Townsend of North Warwickshire Mobile Library; Kim Biddlestone of Orchard Blythe Residential Care Home in Coleshill;  Hilary Hall of Park View Residential Care Home in Warwick and Pamela Webb of Bedworth Community Mental Health Team.

Ron Williamson, Head of Communities and Wellbeing at Warwickshire County Council, said: “I would like to thank our award winners for the outstanding contribution they make through their working lives. They are true ambassadors for the county council and reflect our commitment to providing the very best customer service.”
