Whitnash has say on police, town plan...
Police priorities, fire safety in the community, the Whitnash town plan and more will all be on the agenda at the next meeting of the Whitnash Community Forum, on Monday 18 January.
The forum will be held at the Whitnash Community Centre, Acre Close, Whitnash from 6pm.
Other items on the agenda at the meeting, which is open to all residents living in Whitnash, include a presentation on the University Hospital Coventry and Warwickshire (UHCW) and Foundation Trust status by Janet White, Foundation Trust Project Director for UHCW.
The Community Forum Grant Fund and applications to the fund is another important item on the agenda, and there will be brief presentations from applicants to the fund. There will also be an update on the Local Transport Plan consultation from Kate Nash of Warwickshire County Council.
Community Forums are a great way for people to find out about big issues affecting the area, get answers to questions and influence local decision-making. Anyone with a question about a local issue can go along and put it to local Councillors and officers from a range of organisations.
District and County Councillor Bernard Kirton will chair the meeting. Town Councillor Jim Nutt will provide an update on the Whitnash Town Plan and moving it forward, while Dave Finnerty and Paul Morley of Warwickshire Fire & Rescue Service will be updating residents about the Fire Safety Community Group.
Sergeant Andy Scruton, Team Leader for Whitnash Safer Neighbourhoods Team will present a report on recent police activity in the area and ask residents to help set the police’s priorities for the coming months.
He said: “We are dedicated to dealing with issues causing concern within the local community but in order to do so we need to know what those issues are. That’s why your attendance and input at these forums is so important.”
Although the formal Community Forum meeting will begin at 6.30pm, your local policing Safer Neighbourhoods Team will be on hand from 6pm to provide local residents with one-to-one advice if you have a specific concern or problem.
Residents can hear the latest on policing in their local area and officers from Warwickshire Police will feed back on issues raised at earlier surgeries.
For residents who can’t make the meeting on 18 January, alternative methods of feeding into the debate are available. The next meeting is on 21 April, at the same location and time.
Community Forums are an interactive event enabling residents to learn about issues big and small affecting their area, get answers to questions and influence local decision-making. Anyone with a question about a local issue can go along and put it to officers from a range of organisations.
There are a number of ways that people can find out about the issues discussed at the Community Forum and what progress is being made.
