Major works at Grendon HWRC
North Warwickshire residents are being warned that Grendon Household Waste Recycling Centre will be closing next month for two weeks to allow major refurbishment works to take place.
The centre will close on February 22, and reopen two weeks later at 9am on Monday, March 8.
The closure of the centre at Spon Lane in Grendon is to allow for major works to get underway to repair the surface of the yard, which has suffered from serious subsidence.
Cllr Alan Cockburn, Warwickshire County Council’s Portfolio Holder for the Environment, said: “We have looked closely at all the options and the works are of such an extensive nature that closure is the only option during this time. We apologise for any inconvenience caused.”
Residents are being asked to use Judkins Household Waste Recycling Centre, Tuttle Hill, Nuneaton, during the two week closure, as an alternative.
There is also the Option of using the Bulky Waste Service run by North Warwickshire Borough Council. Call 01827 715341 for more information.
