Play a part in planning the future of transport
Warwickshire’s residents are being called upon to play a part in shaping the future of transport in the county.
Warwickshire County Council is creating a third ‘Local Transport Plan’, which will shape the future of transport in the county over the next 15 years.
Warwickshire’s second Local Transport Plan is coming to an end, during the life of the current plan some great successes have been achieved, including dramatic reductions in casualties on the roads, fewer children travelling to school by car, and the completion of Coleshill Parkway, offering north Warwickshire a completely new transport interchange.
Transport planners have already gained some views from local people and the second stage of the consultation is now being thrown open.
Cllr Alan Cockburn, Warwickshire County Council’s Portfolio Holder for the Environment, said: “We are now working on the county’s 3rd Local Transport Plan and it is crucial that people let us know their views now.
“This is about the people of Warwickshire helping to shape the future of transport in Warwickshire. What transport measures do you want to see in Warwickshire over the next 15 years? Improved public transport schemes? Improved provision for cyclists? Measures to help manage congestion?
“This is your chance to let us have your views by taking part in the second stage of the consultation.”
The consultation is now underway and responses must be received by 26 March 2010. You can participate in one of three ways;
Your local Community Forum will provide further information about the consultation including the appropriate consultation material.
