Extended Services in Southam area to launch its website
Southam area ’s Extended Services team is showing people in the area where they can get childcare, activities for holidays and a wealth of other important information for families with the launch of its new website.
The team is part of Warwickshire County Council’s countywide Extended Services division which uses schools to provide a range of activities and services, often beyond the school day, to meet the needs of children, their families and the wider community.
The website covers the areas of Southam, Long Itchington, Stockton and Napton as well as other local villages within the Southam area and has information for all age groups.
Among the many links for young people are the Respect Yourself campaign giving help on issues around relationships and sexual health, advice on dealing with bullying, arts zone information and advice on drugs issues.
The Family Information Service is linked and parents can access childcare availability, a parents’ zone and additional support.
Part of the site features the Southam and District Children’s Centre with information on its play and stay, crèche, ante-natal classes, child and family health services, the school health service, youth service and Warwickshire Police.
Opportunities for leisure and learning for adults include Tae Kwon Do, French, art workshops, Ballet or street dance all of which can be taken at community venues in the Southam District.
