Warwickshire’s top Wedding Venues
Anyone who ‘popped the question’ over Christmas and the New Year may now be thinking about where their wedding can take place…
The most popular venues for civil wedding and civil partnership ceremonies in Warwickshire have been revealed by Warwickshire County Council’s Registration Services.
In the period 2008 to 2009, registrars in Warwickshire performed an amazing 2,103 wedding and civil partnership ceremonies across the county - an average of over 40 ceremonies a week! Of these, 1,225 took place at venues, other than register offices, that have been approved to host ceremonies.
Warwickshire continues to be a popular county for civil marriages and civil partnerships, and more civil ceremonies are taking place in approved premises rather than in register offices.

Councillor Heather Timms, Warwickshire County Council’s Portfolio Holder for Customers, Workforce and Partnerships, said: “Warwickshire offers a wonderful range of wedding and civil partnership venues, regardless of whether you want a small family gathering or the largest of celebrations - from historic castles and mansion houses to modern hotels with excellent facilities.
“A civil marriage or civil partnership ceremony can be performed by registrars from Warwickshire County Council’s Registration Services at any venue that holds a licence to host weddings. If you would prefer the ceremony to take place at a registration office, this is of course another option, and one that many couples still choose. We have recently refurbished a number of our registration offices in Warwickshire to provide even better facilities for attending wedding parties.
“Whatever option you choose, our registrars will guide you through the legal formalities and ensure that your day runs as smoothly as possible. There are many ways that the ceremony can be made more personal to you. The registrars can offer a choice of vows, readings and music and, as it is your special day, your own suggestions are welcome.”
