School girls clean up
Year 11 students from Rugby High School for Girls put their business skills to the test as they attempted to set up their own soap company.
The day was an Enterprise Experience Event co-ordinated by the Warwickshire Education Business Partnership, a part of Warwickshire County Council, which aims to make school pupils better prepared for the world of work.
Yesaterday (25 January), students worked in teams to set up their own soap manufacturing companies, after having listened to local entrepreneur Angus Farmer of CocoMango.
In the last few years Angus has launched his own range of natural gift soaps and the students put together their own recipes for future inclusion in the CocoMango range.
They also considered all the financial implications of manufacturing soap, how best to market their designs, and adhere to strict labelling guidelines when considering the soap packaging. At the end of the session the students presented their ideas to Angus and the winning team had the luxury of having their soap recipe produced for the whole year group to enjoy.
Local employers were also on hand to guide the students through this challenging task to ensure they worked as a team, organised themselves efficiently, kept to deadlines and communicated fully with each other.
