Teenagers test their talents
Year 10 students from Ash Green School are today taking on a challenge to design a new range of furniture for a teenager’s bedroom.
The Enterprise Challenge Event has been co-ordinated by the Warwickshire Education Business Partnership, a part of Warwickshire County Council, which aims to help pupils be better prepared for the world of work.
The 15-year-olds will be taking part in a business simulation where they will design, construct and market a range of bespoke furniture for a teenager’s bedroom.
The activity will be creative and practical as well as involving financial and marketing decisions. Throughout the challenge the students will need to concentrate carefully on their teamwork, time management, communication and problem solving skills. To round off the activity the teams will present a radio jingle which they will put together to advertise their respective furniture design companies.
Business representatives from the local area will attend on the day to assist the young people, paying special attention to their organizational skills.
