Extended Services website to make access to learning easy

Warwickshire County Council’s Extended Services division is to launch its own website for the four clusters in Nuneaton cluster with links to the 37 schools in the area showing what is available at schools for all the family outside of school hours.

Extended Services co-ordinates activities for four clusters in Nuneaton – West Nuneaton, East Nuneaton, South Nuneaton and Hartshill.

There are also links to various agencies who offer support to all the family such as the Family Information Service and links to websites that can offer help with childcare, parenting or issues such as health or bullying.

Activities available through Extended Services at the schools or venues in the area are easily located in their own section.  Users will be able to see details on music projects, an activity club run by Nuneaton Town Football Club to encourage young people into exercise and table tennis coaching which are currently being organised through Extended Services with local partners.

Cllr Izzi Seccombe, portfolio holder for Children, Young People and Families with Warwickshire County Council said:  “Extended Services is helping schools to deliver to the whole community throughout the day, not only during school hours.  This will have major benefits for families’ quality of life and health.

“This website will help families take advantage of all that is available to them.  Advice on childcare is just a click of the mouse away.  It is a wonderful addition to the services available in Nuneaton.”
