Nuneaton Register Office's big day!

It will be a cause for celebration at Nuneaton Register Office on Tuesday 2nd February… but not for the usual reasons.

Registrars for Warwickshire Registration Services in Nuneaton are used to hosting people’s special moments, such as weddings and birth registrations.

But on Tuesday, they will hold a special event to celebrate better facilities and brighter premises at the Riversley Park offices, following a well-deserved face-lift.

Nuneaton Register Office temporarily closed its doors for a few weeks at the end of October so a refurbishment of the venue could take place.

Now the work has been completed, and the refurbished office reception and public areas have all been brightened up.

A private waiting room with more seating has been created and there are additional toilet facilities, which will better serve wedding parties at the venue that sometimes number up to 60 guests.

Registrars from Warwickshire Registration Services will be joined by Councillor Heather Timms, Warwickshire County Council’s Portfolio Holder for Customers, Workforce and Partnerships, to celebrate the make-over.

Councillor Heather Timms said: “This is an important venue for people living in Nuneaton and the surrounding area, with many choosing to get married here, as well as it being the place where the deaths of loved ones are registered, and the birth of new family members as well.

“It’s very important that when people come here, they are comfortable and the offices are a pleasant place to be. Life changing moments happen within these walls.

“Weddings are regularly held here, and we want couples to feel that this is an excellent venue for them and their guests. I’m very pleased with the result of this make-over, and I know that Nuneaton’s registrars are too.”

Couples wishing to arrange a visit to view Nuneaton Register Office should phone 02476 375209 (marriages, civil partnerships and ceremonies), or for birth and death registration and copies of certificates, phone 0300 5550255.
