Young people to create new look for Youth centre
Young people from the Henley Youth and Community Centre will be getting their paint brushes at the ready during the half term school break.
They have been awarded a grant from the Youth Opportunities Fund, operated locally by Warwickshire County Council’s Children, Young People and Families directorate, to redecorate the centre otherwise known as the HUB.
Ten youth club members will join a professional decorator between 16 and 18 February to sand woodwork, prepare walls and paint in the colours they have chosen. They will also help choose new furniture.
Anna Stowe, District Youth and Community Worker for the county council’s Youth and Community Service, said: “The HUB provides a safe place for young people to play, chat and take part in positive activities so we felt they should have a say in how it looks.
“A group of members got together, applied for and were awarded the grant, and have come up with designs for a brighter centre that everyone can appreciate, and I would like to thank them all for their hard work so far.”
