‘Street Sportz’ returns to Warwickshire this half term
Football, cricket and basketball are just some of the activities on offer for young people as Street Sportz returns to Warwickshire this half term.
The free sports programme, organised by Warwickshire County Council’s Positive about Young People programme, offers 8 to 13-year-olds the chance to play any sport they can think of, providing the equipment is available.
Between Monday 15 February and Friday 19 February, one hour long sessions will run at 17 locations across the county.
Cllr Izzi Seccombe, Warwickshire County Council’s Portfolio Holder for Children, Young People and Families, said: “Street Sportz promotes exercise and team work while encouraging participants to try something new.
“It provides a great opportunity to keep minds active and reduce boredom during the week’s holiday.”
Young people will need to provide their name, address, any medical information that the organisers should know about and emergency contact details before joining in with any activities.
‘Positive about Young People’ is a partnership between Warwickshire County Council and Warwickshire Police among other agencies working with young people. The programme helps young people by giving them something positive to do and to feel part of their communities.
