The chips are up

From January 2009 - January 2010, Warwickshire County Council’s Home Wood Chipping Service has processed over 550 tonnes of green waste for the householders of Warwickshire.

During this time the service made over one thousand visits spreading recycling and sustainability messages to homes across the county.

County Councillor and portfolio holder for the environment Alan Cockburn, said: “The Home Wood Chipping Service continues its work to help the people of Warwickshire to practically reduce the amount of green waste going to landfill.”

Senior Forester, Ken Simons added: “It’s good to see Warwickshire residents using this valuable service. The cost of wood chipping is £20.00 per hour, with a maximum of 2 hours.

“It is advisable to ring and book before the work is carried out so that the shredding can be arranged for the same week.”
