RSE workers launch Nuneaton Valentines campaign
Two Relationship and Sexual Health Education workers will be offering information and advice in Nuneaton town centre this weekend, ahead of Valentines Day.
Mark Connors and Claire Rowland from the Nuneaton & Bedworth Leisure Trust are working with Warwickshire’s Respect Yourself Campaign to promote the benefits of young people delaying their first sexual experience until they are sure they are really ready.
A market stall will be set up near the fountain from 10am to 3pm on Saturday 13 February as part of the ‘horny devils valentine’s d(el)ay’ campaign and will give away goodie bags full of useful information and messages.
Sarah Westlake from the Nuneaton & Bedworth Leisure Trust’s Youth Inclusion Team, said: “The Valentines weekend is the perfect opportunity to show young people that there’s no reason to rush in to having their first sexual experience until they are ready.
“There are plenty of other ways of showing partners that you love them such as spending time together, talking about feelings and just being there for someone are some of the most obvious examples.
“Our RSE workers often visit a number of locations in Nuneaton and Bedworth offering free, confidential relationship and sexual health information, so young people can talk to us at a time and place convenient to them.”
