Excellent Ofsted result for Barford St Peter’s C of E (VA) Primary School
In the inspection report for Barford St Peter’s CE Primary School, published last Friday, Ofsted said, ‘Pupils, parents, staff and governors at Barford St Peter’s School are clearly proud to be part of the community of Barford St Peter’s.’
Ofsted judged the overall effectiveness of the school to be good with outstanding outcomes for all pupils. Ofsted commented, ‘Taking into account their excellent personal development and above average attainment, the pupils are exceptionally well prepared for the next stage of their education and the wider world.’ The overall effectiveness of the Early Years Foundation Stage was also judged to be outstanding.
Ofsted recognised that the school provides strong leadership and that there is ‘a secure understanding of the school’s strengths and areas for development.’
Special praise was given to the children as being ‘unfailingly polite and respectful and sharing enthusiasm and joy in learning’. Ofsted also commented that the children are ‘keen to learn and their ability to concentrate and persevere is exceptional.’
Acting Headteacher, Miss Angela Johnson said, ‘I am delighted to be part of such a great team and I am very proud of our achievement and especially proud of the children.’
Portfolio holder for Children Young People and Families with Warwickshire County Council, Cllr Izzi Seccombe, said: ‘Whilst so many of the school’s achievements have been rightly praised, I am particularly delighted that Ofsted has drawn attention to how everyone in the school is proud of the local community. I feel schools play an essential role in community life for everyone, not just those who attend.’
