CD launch for boys’ choir
The Warwickshire County Boys Choir will be launching their first CD at a special Mothers Day concert in Kenilworth this weekend.
The 100 strong County Music Service group will be performing their songs to mothers from all over the county at St. Nicholas Church in Abbey Fields on March 13.
After the performance people will be able to buy the boys’ CD, recorded in January, featuring 12 of their most popular tracks including the Westlife cover, You Raise Me Up, the gospel song Elijah Rock, the choral work of Panis Angelicus, and the Beach Boy favourite Fun, Fun, Fun.
Music director Garry Jones said: “I’m extremely impressed with the professionalism and dedication of all the boys during the recording which has produced a sound of very high quality.”
The County Boys are now firmly established as one of Warwickshire’s finest boys’ choir and are in popular demand to appear around the country. At Easter they will be visiting France to sing in Normandy and Saumur and proceeds from the Mothers Day Concert will go towards this project.
The concert is from 7.15pm-9.00pm with an interval. Tickets are £6 for adults and £4 for children and the CD will be on sale for £7.50.
