Rugby residents get their say
Anti-social behaviour at Bilton Road shops in Overslade, youth services, making health and social care services better in Rugby, and much more will be on the agenda at the next meeting of the Rugby Town West Community Forum on Wednesday evening (17 March).
The forum will be held at the Rokeby Primary School, Anderson Avenue, Rugby from 6.30pm.
Other items on the agenda at the meeting, which is open to all residents living in New Bilton, Admirals (including Cawston), Bilton, Overslade and Caldecott (including Hillside and Rokeby), include speeding on Lytham Road and Bilton Road, and action to tackle dwelling burglaries in New Bilton.
These items will be discussed during an update from the Rugby Town West Safer Neighbourhoods Team, who will be holding a community drop in, along with local Councillors and council officers, from 6.30pm before the formal meeting starts at 7pm.
Sergeant Dafydd Goddard, Team Leader for Rugby Town West Safer Neighbourhoods Team said: "We value your attendance and input at forums. It is essential for us to know what the issues are concerning the local community in order to effectively deal with them."
Community Forums are a great way for people to find out about big issues affecting the area, get answers to questions and influence local decision-making. Anyone with a question about a local issue can go along and put it to local Councillors and officers from a range of organisations.
At the end of each meeting, there is a public question time session and an opportunity for residents, community groups and panel members to raise issues not covered on the agenda.
For residents who can’t make the meeting on 17 March, alternative methods of feeding into the debate are available, and the next meeting is on 9 June at Overslade Community Centre.
There are a number of ways that people can find out about the issues discussed at the Community Forum and what progress is being made.
