Raising awareness of youth services in Nuneaton
Ensuring young people in Nuneaton have ‘somewhere to go, something to do and someone to listen’ is the aim of a special event being held this month.
Warwickshire County Council’s Integrated Youth Support Services (IYSS) is inviting the local community to CHESS at Camp Hill, where they can find out more about the provision of activities and support in the Camp Hill, Galley Common, Whittleford and the Shires areas of the town.
The event on Monday 19 April from 3pm to 7pm will focus on the work of the IYSS and partners, as well as providing an opportunity to ask about the services young people would like to see in the future.
Representatives from local groups and organisations will also be on hand during the day as part of a special market place, offering information about their services.
The afternoon will culminate in a short showcase of young people’s talents.
Jackie Earl, Locality Co-ordinator for Warwickshire’s Youth and Community Service (part of the IYSS), said: “The event is a great opportunity for the local community to find out what we’re doing for young people now and what we plan to do in the future.
“It also provides an insight in to the work of the county council and partners across Warwickshire ensuring young people have ‘somewhere to go, something to do and someone to listen’.”
Warwickshire’s Integrated Youth Support Services (IYSS) is made up of a number of organisations including Warwickshire’s Youth and Community Service, Positive about Young People programme, Respect Yourself Campaign, WCVYS, Youth Justice Service and Connexions Coventry and Warwickshire.
