Warwickshire Voice of eXperience

People over 50 living in Warwickshire are being encouraged to ‘have their say’ on Warwickshire County Council services through a new network called VOX - the Voice of eXperience.

Warwickshire VOX, formerly known as Warwickshire Older People’s Network has been set up to enhance the work of the older people’s forums across Warwickshire and to give a broader, countywide voice about older people’s issues.

Over-50s can contribute online, via the Warwickshire website or Twitter, or attend VOX quarterly meetings, each with a different theme.

The first VOX quarterly meeting, held in Ryton on Dunsmore last November, focused on transport - more than 100 older people attended. A similar number turned up to discuss housing and home issues in Rugby on March 3. During this meeting older people selected a name for the group, ‘Warwickshire VoX’.

The third ‘Have Your Say’ meeting will be held at the Stratford Racecourse, Thursday 10th June 2010. The theme for this event will be ‘Prevention’. More information about this event will be available soon.
