Response to severe weather in spotlight
People living in rural villages to the west of Warwick are invited to air any concerns resulting from the recent severe weather at the Warwick Rural West Community Forum, which is being held on 29th April 2010 at 7.30pm, at Norton Lindsey Village Hall.
The main focus of the meeting will be public issues relating to road gritting, school closures, and potholes caused by severe weather conditions.
A panel of responsible officers from Warwickshire County Council will be at the meeting to explain how their services operate and to listen to your issues and concerns.
Cllr Jose Compton, Co-Chair of the Forum said: “The recent bad weather has highlighted a range of public concerns about the quality and upkeep of Warwickshire’s roads and school closures.
“People living in rural areas feel particularly affected by transport issues, and the aim of this Forum is to give local people the opportunity to talk to the right person face to face about the problems caused by severe weather.”
Sergeant Gary Holtby, Team Leader for Warwick Rural West Safer Neighbourhoods Team said: “Residents’ attendance at forums is essential to their success. If you tell us what your local community concerns are, we will make it our priority to deal with those issues.”
The next step will be for officers to take back the issues voiced at the Forum. Everyone is welcome to come along and contribute their thoughts and ideas.
