Rugby Western Relief Road works warning

Motorists are being warned to expect delays this week as a result of works on a junction with the new Rugby Western Relief Road.

On Thursday and Friday of this week (15th and 16th April) three way temporary traffic lights will be in use on Lawford Road near its junction with Paynes Lane in Rugby.

These lights will be removed by the weekend but re-installed the following Monday and Tuesday (19th and 20th April).

The following Wednesday and Thursday, two way lights will be used outside Simms Flats on Lawford Road.

Traffic delays are expected as a result of the works and road users are advised to seek alternative routes if at all possible.

The contractors Carillion, and Warwickshire County Council, would like to apologise in advance for the inconvenience these delays may cause.

The traffic lights are necessary to allow the completion of the surfacing at the Lawford Road junction with the Rugby Western Relief Road to be carried out.

In order to complete the surfacing works on the junction of Bilton Lane with the Western Relief Road, which is a short distance to the West of the Bear Public House, Bilton Lane will be closed totally on Saturday, May 22. It is hoped that this closure will be just for the one day.
