From Nuneaton to the Nile
A care home worker who has dedicated her working life to helping older people in Nuneaton is preparing for a change of scenery as she starts her retirement with a trip to Egypt.
Warwickshire County Council’s Caldwell Grange care home in Nuneaton held a farewell celebration for Pat Pope who has retired after 35 years of service.
Residents and staff gathered to thank Pat for all her hard work and to bid her a fond farewell.
Pat has many memories of her time as a domestic at the home for older people. She said: “I’ve always enjoyed my work, especially being able to get to know the residents - I’ve met lots of lovely people over the years.”
Pat has been married for 43 years and has two daughters and three grandchildren.
“My husband has recently retired and we are looking forward to doing some travelling – first stop is a trip down The Nile.” she added.
Jacky West, Care Home Manager for Warwickshire County Council, said: “Pat has been a dedicated member of our team; we will miss her and wish her well in her retirement.”
