Mobile service during library makeover

Temporary mobile library services will be provided in Wellesbourne while the Kineton Road building gets a makeover.

Wellesbourne Library is closing for alterations on Saturday May 15 at 12.30pm. The building is being extended to make room for a new Children’s Centre on site, and the library will be refreshed and updated at the same time. The work is expected to take around six months to complete.

The mobile library will will be parked on the Village Hall car park and will open its doors for business from Tuesday May 25. Its opening hours will be:

Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays 9.30am - 1.00pm and 2.00pm - 5.00pm

Saturdays     9.30am - 12.30pm

Divisional Library Manager Tanya Butchers apologised for any inconvenience caused by the temporary closure but said the changes being made would benefit the local community.

“When it reopens later this year, Wellesbourne Library will be bigger and better than before,” she said. “Features will include a flexible training room for improved learning facilities, and a self-service machine to make borrowing and returning loan items quicker and easier. The new Children’s Centre will have a toy library and offer a range of indoor and outdoor activities for under-fives and their parents.”
