Libraries offer all things horrid for half term
Half term doesn’t have to be ‘boring’ because there’s lots to do in Warwickshire County Council libraries during the break.
Special holiday activities for five to 11-year-olds include the return of Horrid Henry, by popular demand, and a new attraction in the shape of ‘Mr Big’.
Author and illustrator Steve Smallman will lead Booktime workshops for children interested in art to help them improve their drawing techniques. The sessions will be based on ‘Mr Big’ by Ed Vere, and all participating children will be entered into a prize draw for Booktime books. Steve’s own titles include ‘Smelly Peter and the Green Pea Eater’.
Further holiday horridness will be on offer in half term activities based on the ever-popular “Horrid Henry’ books by Francesca Simon - to include crafts, quizzes, puzzles and prizes.
Elaine Barker from Warwickshire Libraries, said: “Our half term events are increasingly popular - and loads of fun for all concerned. We are delighted to have Steve Smallman with us this time. He will be showing the children how to draw characters and helping them to develop their own creative styles.”
