Rugby Community Forums coming soon

People across the Rugby area are being invited to attend the next round of local Community Forums in June.

The meetings are open to everyone and provide an opportunity for people to raise issues of concern with their Councillors as well as officers from Warwickshire County Council, Rugby Borough Council and Warwickshire Police.

It is also an opportunity to find out what is happening in their local area.

Issues to be discussed at the June meetings include pedestrianisation of the town centre and recreational facilities.  The three rural meetings will largely be devoted to identifying priorities for the forum areas.

Successes from past meetings include the installation of a new bus stop outside the Benn Partnership Centre, a pilot youth programme in Brownsover and Overslade and the purchase of a speed gun that can be used by volunteers from local communities in the rural area.

The meetings are being held in venues across the borough. They are at:

• Dunchurch Division Community Forum, Wednesday 2 June at Marton Village Hall, drop-in from 7pm- to 7.30pm, formal meeting 7.30pm

• Rugby Town West Community Forum, Wednesday 9 June at Overslade Community Centre, drop-in from 6.30pm to 7pm, formal meeting 7pm
