Residents keep on chipping away
Ninety eight per cent of householders are satisfied with Warwickshire County Council’s Home Wood Chipping Service, according to a latest survey.
The customer satisfaction survey carried out last month showed that 80 per cent of service users were very satisfied, 18 per cent fairly satisfied, and only two per cent dissatisfied.
It also revealed that 100 per cent of residents who used the wood chipping service thought that it was carried out professionally and safe. And in a year when the charges have been increased, 86 per cent thought the price was right.
Warwickshire’s wood chippers make good neighbours – ten per cent of them give their chippings away to friends or neighbours, while almost a quarter (24 per cent) use the service about once a year.
Cllr Alan Cockburn, Cabinet member for the Environment, said: “The Home Wood Chipping Service continues its good work in helping the people of Warwickshire to practically reduce the amount of green waste going to landfill.”
Senior Forester, Ken Simons added: “We are very proud that our high customer standards been recognised by the people who matter – those who use the service. Our motto is to reduce it, recycle it and chip it!”
The Home Wood Chipping Service helps residents re-use green garden waste which is better for the environment. They can be used as mulch, which is a great way of controlling weeds and clearing ground.
The service chips twigs and branches of up to 13cm in diameter into bags to use around the garden. To make a booking call 01926 738827 between 9am and 12-15pm.
