‘Street Sportz’ returns to Warwickshire this half term
A free sports programme for young people in Warwickshire returns for the half term break next week.
Street Sportz, organised by Warwickshire County Council’s Positive about Young People programme, offers 8 to 13-year-olds the chance to play any sport they can think of such as football or cricket, providing the equipment is available.
From Tuesday 1 June until Friday 4 June, one hour long sessions will run at 17 locations across the county.
Mark Bolton, Operations Development Manager for Positive about Young People, said: “Street Sportz promotes exercise and team work while encouraging participants to try something new.
“It provides a great opportunity to keep minds active and reduce boredom during the week’s holiday.”
Young people will need to provide their name, address, any medical information that the organisers should know about and emergency contact details before joining in with any activities.
‘Positive about Young People’ is a partnership between Warwickshire County Council and Warwickshire Police among other agencies working with young people. The programme helps young people by giving them something positive to do and to feel part of their communities.
