Go wild this half term in Warwick
Warwickshire County Council’s Heritage Education and County Record Office will be running some great family activities in Warwick this May half term where you can learn all about the wild animals that once roamed Warwickshire’s forests, and how children coped with Second World War rationing.
Throughout the week, families are invited to take part in the Warwick Bear Hunt. Starting at Market Hall Museum, collect a sheet and see if you can find the museum bear, and many others along the way too!
This activity is free of charge and available during museum opening hours: Bank Holiday Monday: 10.00am—5.00pm Tuesday– Friday 10.00am—5.00pm.
Did you know bears, wolves, wild boar and other animals used to live in your back garden? On Tuesday 1 June, find out all about Warwickshire’s really wild natural history and make a dancing animal of your own to take home.
This activity costs £2.50 per child, 5s and under £1 and there is no need to book, just drop in. All ages welcome but 8s and under must be accompanied by an adult. Sessions run 10.30am—12.30pm and 2.00pm—4.00pm at Market Hall Museum, Warwick.
Also, there’s a chance to join the Teddy Bear’s Picnic on Friday 4 June. Bring a picnic and your favourite teddy bear to the garden at St John’s House Museum, Warwick, and have a go at some teddy bear-related crafts and meet a Warwickshire Bear.
