Centre for families opens in Stockton

An outreach base for Southam Children’s Centre providing a range of services for families with babies and children up to the age of 5 opens today.

The new Early Years Hub based at Stockton Primary School will offer a ‘one –stop shop’ for these young families, where skilled staff are on hand to give help and advice.
Speaking about the opening, Southam Children’s Centre Manager, Manjit Kaur Evans said: “We are very excited about our Stockton Early Years Hub, which will cater for local needs enabling children and families enjoy the wide range of services that will be on offer.”

The new centre, funded by Warwickshire County Council, designed and remodelled by GCG Construction, is situated at Stockton Primary School with the entrance on Church Street.

Lucie Buran, Headteacher at Stockton Primary School added: “We are delighted to work with Southam Children’s Centre and provide accommodation to deliver services to Stockton and the surrounding villages.

“It brings us even closer to our goal of making Stockton Primary School a centre of excellence in early years provision at the heart of our community.” 

Warwickshire County Councillor and cabinet member for children, young people and families, Heather Timms, attended the opening. She said: “Care has been taken to develop high quality amenities at the centre with the needs of local parents and their little people in mind.

“Families are set to benefit greatly from everything on offer including a range of support services, high quality childcare and health advice. It is a pleasure to be opening the centre.”
